Our Cool Stroller
So, after much reading and debating, we finally got our stroller. We settled on an European model Tizi fell in love with. She thought that if she had to bring the baby around in public, she wanted to be seen with a cool stroller. Looks aside, this model is very lightweight, easy to maneuver, folds down to a size small enough to fit in the almost not-existing trunk of the Mustang, and unfolds automatically. It can also be used with the infant car seat, (that also fits in the Mustang) so it can be used since birth. Isn’t it awesome?
And yes, we are keeping the Mustang, which, right now is the official baby-car, since Matt drives a 2 seat pick-up. We are considering a third car with 4 doors, but we are not getting rid of the convertible. Call us crazy (or naive) but we are resisting the minivan urge for now. 🙂

Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful one. The weather was great, in the low 70s, and we enjoyed our quite time together. We had our turkey and all the trimmings, thanks to Matt, the awesome chef, long walks on the beach, movies, and of course some baby shopping. We are finally getting things a little more under control. We are not ready yet, but getting there. We went for an anti-natal test, which included a 20 minutes monitoring of the baby’s heartbeat and an ultrasound. Everything looked good, and most important, the baby is positioned head down. No estimation on actual arrival date, or weight. So now the countdown begins…
Enjoying our feast on the deck
It looks like Tizi is ready to pop… but we are still two weeks away (hopefully)
1 commentHappy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are wishing you all to be blessed with good company, good food…and good football. Of course this year we will be taking it very easy, no trips this time, and just kick back in warm, beautiful San Diego. Matt is preparing quite a feast and we have been looking forward to those few days as a welcome respite from our hectic life.
We almost made it to a full term baby (despite Tizi’s fears of an early delivery). On sunday, we will enter our 38th week, and everyone is telling us it can happen everyday now. Of course we are still hoping for a couple more weeks— did you hear this, little one?— but we will see. The official due date is December 8. We will have a final ultrasound tomorrow to make sure everything is all right, but the baby seems to be in the correct position. According to our midwife, he will not be a big baby: Tizi is hoping for that.
We hope to be able to talk to you all soon.

We are at the finish line already. The time has flown by: it seems like yesterday that we found out we were expecting. So this is a rundown of our pregnancy so far.
We did our home test and got positive results on Easter Sunday (this sounds like a good sign). The news caught us a little off guard, as it happened pretty quickly, once we started trying. Being the extra cautious types, we decided to keep it under wraps till we had a full confirmation.
Tizi’s first trimester was excellent: no morning sickness, hormonal swings (at least this is what she claims) or huge weight gain.
On our 15th week we performed an amnio test (see above, about being ultra cautious): after all, Tiziana is considered an “elderly primagravida”. We got a green light as far as genetic testing is concerned (and with all the expected disclaimers), and the wonderful news that the little alien will be a boy. Tizi especially was very happy about this.
This was July, and finally in the second trimester it was finally time to let everyone know: Matt at his annual family reunion, and Tizi in Italy. Both trips were great, and once back, the news was spreading among friends and colleagues.
Pregnancy continued without any big problems or discomfort, and our 20 week ultrasound revealed our baby was growing well, and he was about a couple days ahead in his development. Will the due date move to December 5?
We entered our third trimester in September. It is time to get ready. We took some pictures at the end of the month to remember this special time.
We also decided to get a 4D ultrasound: it was amazing to see the little one moving around, and yawning. Of course, being camera-shy like his dad, he covered his face with his arms most of the time, sticking out his tongue at us. We know the pictures look like an unfinished 3D model rendering, but it is still quite interesting. According to the technician, the baby has some hair, puffy cheeks and a big lips (and of course a tendency of sticking his tongue out…just like his mom when she was a baby).
We are now getting ready (so to speak) for the big day, trying to get everything organized. At this moment we are still very unprepared, but we are trying to fix it. Tiziana will go on maternity leave on November 2, and will have plenty of time to dedicate herself to everything baby-related. We have chosen a birth center pretty close to home, that practice a more “natural” birth methods (which means no epidural, but other pain relief techniques, including medicine). We will see if it will work out. It is within an hospital, so there is always the option to move back to a regular delivery unit to get some strong drugs if needed.
Tiziana’s parents will arrive in the middle of December to help out, and they are supposed to stay for a couple of months: this will be a great relief.
So, this is it for now. We will keep you posted on the progress.
By the way, some of you asked us if we have a registry. You can find it at: www.myregistry.com and search under either of our names.
