Happy Holidays!
Happy holidays everyone!
Keegan turned 3 weeks old on Christmas Eve. He slept through the momentous event, comfortably snoozing on daddy.
It was a busy week. He went on his first walks on the beach, nestled inside a baby carrier, his first stroller walk, and his first Christmas, even though he didn’t really enjoy it yet, as he was asleep for most of it. Grandma and Grandpa are enjoying their third grandchild, and Tizi and Matt are welcoming the break, and the excellent cooking of Tizi’s mom.

Keegan is trying out all his new toys: his bouncing chair, his swing, and his colorful mobile. He is learning to look around and he is enjoying the music. He was introduced to Dire Straits, Dave Matthew’s band and Siouxie and The Banshees and he seemed to like them all. We will wait a few more weeks before adding Bad Religion, Social D and other Punk Bands to the mix.
His sleeping habit are still quite unpredictable, but we are enjoying his more common awake moments. He loves to look around, and he is getting stronger and stronger every day.
We took some Christmas pictures to wish you all well. Keegan is singing, rapping, praying and just staring on his best Christmas outfit.

Keegan is Almost Two Weeks Old
It is hard to believe, but Keegan is already almost two weeks old. Time really goes by fast between feeding, naps (for him) and diaper changes. We took him to the doctor and he is doing well. By Wednesday he had already regained the lost weight and some:he was 3.4 Kg.
He is a good eater and he has already earned a new nickname: Dyson, because he never loses suction! He is a mini vacuum cleaner: careful to put anything in front of his mouth, or you will initiate a powerful sucking routine.Doesn’t matter what it is: clothes, dad’s chest, carpet, blanket, miscellaneous hands: if it is in front of him, he will suck it!
He is also getting a little more active, and now he does spend some time awake. We were able to get a pictures of him with his eyes open!
We finally got the pictures of two of the super helpful people that assisted us during delivery: our nurse, Winnie Sunshine ( how cool of a name is that?) and our Doula Andrea Liddle. They were both amazing, and really helped Tizi through the whole process. Andrea came by to visit and say Hello to the little one: she could now call him by name, as the last time she saw him, he was still “d’Agostino Boy”.

We finally made it home on Wednesday and we are slowly adjusting to the new routine, and getting to know our little one. Matt took this week “semi” off and he has been amazing in helping mom and baby, and giving Tizi breaks, some sleep time and cooking healthy, nutritious meals. He is wonderful at soothing little Keegan when is particularly cranky. He is already proving to be a great dad!
Tizi’s parents will be here on Thursday, and will stay for two months to help out. We are looking forward to see them… and to get some help and wisdom. π
Thank you to all of you that sent us flowers, congratulations and good wishes. We will try to talk to all of you soon. In the meantime, these are the first pictures of our little one. (Tizi assures that there is only a minimal use of Photoshop in those shots). Hopefully we will be able to get some photos with his eyes open soon.
…but it always feels better to sleep on mommy
Someone Was in a Big Hurry!
We are very happy to announce the arrival of baby Keegan Nathan Moore. He precipitously arrived on Monday, December 3 at 11.29 am, PST. He was a few days early β the official due date was today, December 8β but he decided he had no time to waste. He came into this world in only 4 hours…TOTAL! Obviously Tizi was happy to have kept the family tradition of quick deliveries… and Matt was happy we made it to the hospital on time.
Keegan was born in a beautiful, warm (70s) sunny San Diego day. He weighted 7.5 lb (appr. 3.3 Kg) and was 20.4 in (52cm) long. His hair are a medium brown and his eyes are gray: so there is some hope he may have light eyes.
Of course we hadn’t picked a final name yet β one of the many things we had planned to complete on the last week before the due dateβ so his hospital bracelet reads simply: d’Agostino boy. However, going over our name list, we figured that Keegan fit the best. It means:little fiery one, or bright flame. It originated as a last name, but it is now growing in popularity as a first name, ranking 225 among boy baby names in 2006. And no, we didn’t have any particular reasons to choose this name (well, Matt has some Irish blood in his veins): we just liked the name, unusual, but not unheard of and hopefully not too hard to pronounce.
