Keeping in touch

Keegan is Almost Two Weeks Old

It is hard to believe, but Keegan is already almost two weeks old. Time really goes by fast between feeding, naps (for him) and diaper changes. We took him to the doctor and he is doing well. By Wednesday he had already regained the lost weight and some:he was 3.4 Kg.

He is a good eater and he has already earned a new nickname: Dyson, because he never loses suction! He is a mini vacuum cleaner: careful to put anything in front of his mouth, or you will initiate a powerful sucking routine.Doesn’t matter what it is: clothes, dad’s chest, carpet, blanket, miscellaneous hands: if it is in front of him, he will suck it!

He is also getting a little more active, and now he does spend some time awake. We were able to get a pictures of him with his eyes open!

We finally got the pictures of two of the super helpful people that assisted us during delivery: our nurse, Winnie Sunshine ( how cool of a name is that?) and our Doula Andrea Liddle. They were both amazing, and really helped Tizi through the whole process. Andrea came by to visit and say Hello to the little one: she could now call him by name, as the last time she saw him, he was still “d’Agostino Boy”.

He likes to sleep all wrapped up, burrito style and while he has his occasional fussy fits, so far he has been too bad. he doesn’t particularly likes baths yet, but I am sure it is an acquired taste. We also attempted “tummy time” and while he is not complaining, and he seems to be able to lift up his head quite a bit, he also seems more interesting in sucking the pillow in front of him.

Tizi’s parents arrived on Thursday, and they immediately fell in love with this new grandson. They are staying in an apartment at the beach, so we are looking forward to strolling on the boardwalk with them. We will post some pictures soon.
